Meaning

What type of person are you? Are you the type of person who tries to make the most out of every situation, or are you the type of person who needs everything to go perfectly right to have a good time? Perhaps you can relate to both sides.

Nonetheless, 2016 is coming to a close and 2017 is about to storm the scene. If 2016 was a complete dud when it came to you getting closer to achieving your goals and dreams, then that is okay, as long as you learn from your mistakes and really hit the ground running in 2017.

Believe it or not, 2017 could be the most meaningful year of your life … if you make it that way. Start doing the things you love, start living a more passionate life, start living in the moment. We could all take a page out of that playbook.

If you are not happy where you currently are and know you could be living a life that is filled with more happiness, then we have you covered. In fact, we have come up with three ways to get more meaning out of your life. 3 Ways To Get More Meaning Out Of Your Life

  • Start Doing The Things You Love To Do
  • Make Work Your Passion
  • Live A Goal-Oriented Life

Start Doing The Things You Love To Do

How many times have you gotten out of bed, went to work, left work and then went back to bed? Sure, you filled the gaps with breaks, lunch, conversation and things of that nature, but for the most part, you just went to work and then came back home. You went through the motions.Meaning

If you absolutely love your job, then perhaps your day was a major success in the happiness department. With that said, wouldn’t it be more fulfilling to fill in the gaps with the things you love to do? Unfortunately, most people only do the things they love to do when they are on vacation or when the weekend rears its beautiful head.

Your life would hold a lot more meaning if you started to do the things you love to do every single day. Heck, even if you only had an hour to do them. In the spirit of that thinking, start making time for your hobbies. No, you don’t have to be an artist to make this little dream come true. You might love climbing, hiking, walking, riding a bike, etc. Your hobby could be working on a different project.

Stop letting the days fly by and start taking advantage of every single one. You can achieve that goal by doing something you love to do every single day. Here’s the bonus: Your life will have more meaning — because you aren’t just working — and you will likely be more refreshed when you are working.

Make Work Your Passion

If you are at a dead-end job or are just working on projects that aren’t very fulfilling, then make some major changes in 2017. One might be wondering how that can be achieved. Simple. Make work your passion. In other words, start doing work that you are passionate about. Make a run for your dream job.

Breaking into an industry as an entrepreneur might not be the easiest feat of all time, but after you have gotten your feet wet and after you have added some experience to your resume, only take on projects you are passionate about. That is how you live a more meaningful life.

It’s pretty simple. If you love the work you are doing, your life is going to be filled with happiness and meaning. Not to mention, it will really show in your work.

Live A Goal-Oriented Life

Did you squander a bunch of time in 2016, which caused you to not take a major leap forward as an entrepreneur? If so, that is okay, but you have to get back on track in 2017 in a big way. A great way to do that is by living a goal-oriented life.

MeaningBasically, your goals need to become your life. Everything you do should revolve around your goals. If you think that is a bit extreme, you should ask yourself this question: Are my goals really that important? If the answer is yes, then every day should be a new opportunity to achieve your goals and dreams.

And remember, it’s okay to take breaks or a vacation from time to time. People, especially entrepreneurs, have to take vacations to keep the mind fresh.

In 2017, live a goal-oriented life in hopes of adding more meaning to your life. Try getting closer to your goals every single day. If you do something that is not benefiting you in some way, or something that is not helping you reach your goals, then don’t do it. For example, if you are working on a project just to work on a project (perhaps you took on a project that you are not passionate about because you were afraid to say no), then you are likely not getting any closer to achieving success. You might be making money, but you are wasting your time on a project you are not passionate about. Time is the one thing we can’t get back.

“Desire is the key to motivation, but it’s determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal — a commitment to excellence — that will enable you to attain the success you seek.” – Mario Andretti

When was the last time you said this gem? Today is the best day of my life.

Maybe you haven’t said that in years. You don’t have to be a kid to say those words. Everyone deserves to be happy, after all. If you are looking to get more meaning out of your life, which could lead to you living out some of the happiest days of said life, then start practicing the tactics in this article. Make 2017 your year.
