MSD Welcomes with Original Shark Tank Star Kevin Harrington for an Industry-first Pitch Tank
STOUGHTON, MA – January 10, 2017 – MSD, a leading alternate site patient supply chain solutions provider in the United States, providing products, distribution services, biomedical services and technology solutions to the Home Infusion Therapy, Home Medical Equipment, and Oncology Markets, announced today a “never before” industry event that aims to actively set the landscape for healthcare providers, manufacturers, healthcare technology companies, and industry thoughts leaders to engage in discussions and generate active thoughts that impact the future of healthcare.
Future Forward 2017, taking place at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ January 17-21 will address trends, innovations and technology advances that are shaping the Home Infusion, Home Medical Equipment and Oncology markets. This one-of-a-kind conference aims to provide knowledge and technology solutions designed to help healthcare providers improve financial performance by reducing healthcare costs and improving patient outcomes.
Future Forward 2017 will examine the shift in healthcare and technology with leading speakers and entrepreneurs. Healthcare Futurist Daniel Kraft, a Stanford and Harvard trained physician-scientist, inventor, entrepreneur and innovator focused on connected healthcare and the future of healthcare through rapidly emerging, game-changing and convergent innovation and technology trends. Doug Kelley, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Foundation will address the crowd on the important role that healthcare innovation and technology play when it comes to optimizing patient outcomes and creating better lives for those in need.
Five entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to take the stage during the MSD Pitch Tank to present the next new healthcare technology solution to a panel of business experts and an audience of customers and leading manufacturers in the Home Infusion, HME and Oncology markets. Kevin Harrington, an original Shark from the hit TV-show Shark Tank, will participate in judging the five contestants. Harrington has launched over 20 businesses that have grown to over $100 million in sales each, and has launched over 500 products generating more than $5 billion in sales worldwide. Those numbers are a testament to Harrington’s success in spotting “the perfect pitch,” often in panels like the one planned for Future Forward 2017.
On why he chose to participate, Harrington said, “I am a big proponent of wellness and personal health, so I am very excited that MSD invited me to join the panel at Future Forward 2017. This industry is one of my sweet spots, and I can’t wait to meet the minds behind the best new innovations.” Other panel members include MSD’s own Board Director, Christos Cotsakos, Ph.D., Chairman and CEO of Pennington Ventures, LLC, and former Chairman and CEO of E*TRADE, and Steve Metzger, healthcare board member to the Rand Corporation and healthcare investor.
“This Conference is a valuable opportunity to step into the future of home healthcare” said Tom Burke, President and CEO of MSD. “Attendees will learn about challenges and opportunities facing this market. This, in turn, will enable our customers to strengthen their operating processes and focus on what matters most, improving outcomes in patient care.”
